Welcome to Bloch Street Space
Located at 106 E Bloch Street in historic downtown Opelousas, Bloch Street Space is the city’s newest center for creativity, collaboration, and community.
Led by Creative Director Cathy Hebert and Art Director Cindy Pitre, this black box theatre is designed to adapt and transform for performances, rehearsals, art showcases, classes, weddings, parties, and intimate gatherings.

Cathy Hebert, a performer, choreographer, and curator with more than 50 years of experience, continues the legacy of Hebert Dancentre, which has shaped young performers in Opelousas since 1949. Her work is known for innovative choreography and community-driven productions.

Cindy Pitre, a professional artist and educator for over five decades, has brightened downtown Opelousas through her work with the Tricentennial Art Group. The first dance performance at Bloch Street Space took place on a stage designed by Pitre, a fitting start to the venue’s creative story.

With flexible layouts, outdoor gardens, and a focus on local culture, Bloch Street Space welcomes artists, teachers, and the community to gather, create, and celebrate together in the heart of Louisiana’s oldest city.
