Boxcar is opening up the space for the Auburn game. No official tailgate agenda. No rules about what you bring. Just a place to watch the Tigers, hang out, and make your own kind of game day.

Tomorrow Night at BOXCAR we have a special treat. A film with a crazy backstory regarding its initial release and one that has missing from streaming services and was basically out of print on physical media.

But we'll have it a BOXCAR with a beautiful new restoration for its anniversary.

This Friday’s Hoop-De-Doo brings together a lineup we’ve been eager to hear at Boxcar. Mr. Fancypants kicks things off with catchy tunes, followed by a punk ensemble of old guys who still have plenty of fight left in them. Then Jon Brumit, a sound artist from Chattanooga, closes out the night with a set offering a preview of what’s coming to Boxcar this October with our next Silent Film Mixtape.

From strange new films and uncomfortable family drama to a night of live music and a Saturday spent cheering on the Tigers, there’s plenty happening on 1st Ave. Come discover something new, fall into something weird, or just find a place to spend the week.

And on Saturday, Boxcar is your space for the Auburn game. Bring your friends, bring your tailgate snacks, bring whatever weird game-day tradition you’ve got, and settle in for the Tigers. We’ll have the space — you bring the tailgate.

Adapted from August Wilson’s Pulitzer Prize-winning play, Fences follows a working-class father and former baseball player struggling with family, regret, and the choices that shaped his life. Powerful performances and complicated relationships make this one hit close to home.
