We are happy to announce that Gilfalo Art Design of Milwaukee, WI has been selected to return as this year’s design artist to commemorate our 20th production, and oh what a beautiful design they have created!
Dani and Chris are the hands and hearts behind Gilfalo Art Design, a Milwaukee-based printmaking studio where they create hand-carved linoleum block prints. Every piece they make starts as a blank surface and slowly comes to life through carving, inking, and printing—one layer at a time. They are drawn to the process just as much as they are to the final printed artwork, finding inspiration in the textures, imperfections, and bold simplicity that linocut naturally brings.
“Design is at the core of everything we do. Whether we’re creating concert posters, art prints, or experimenting with new ideas, we’re always chasing that balance between clean composition and expressive, hand-crafted detail. Our work is rooted in storytelling, translating music, places and moments into something tangible that people can hold onto,” says Chris.
Outside the studio, you’ll usually find them with a cup in hand—coffee for Chris, chai for Dani (and sometimes both, depending on the day). Travel, like the exploring the UP, fuels their creativity, whether it’s wandering into new coffee and pastry shops or discovering print studios in unfamiliar cities. It’s that constant movement between places, ideas, and experiences that keeps their work evolving and keeps them inspired.
When they sent the first look at the digital design concept, Dani explained “We had been thinking about our conversation, ideas about nature, the passage of time & transformation, and following the path where life leads.”
Watch for updates from Gilfalo Art Design on our page as Chris carves and rolls the commemorative linoleum block prints, (a limited number of which will be signed, numbered and sold at the festival}. These are going to be very special! Also for those who enjoy picking up the festival design on our clothing items, they have hinted that there is a hidden “Easter Egg” in the T-shirt design!
Thank you to Gilfalo Art Design for their professionalism and artistic vision.
We hope you enjoy what they have created for us. 😍☀️🌈💫💚
