After the Committee has warmed up from the Autumn on Main Event yesterday and did some follow-up conversations, we would like to dedicate a moment to recognizing and thanking the many people and businesses that played a crucial role in making this event a fun reality yesterday!!
Please note that This list is not ranked by importance or time invested, but we value and appreciate each individual's and organization's contributions so much!!
First to the City of Onida for letting us “shut down and barricade off” parts of our Main Street (thank u to Tim Gruis for getting flags hung and getting streets blocked off early Saturday in the rain!!
Thank you to the businesses that were blocked off for having patience and participating in the event! We see you Grassland Gourmet, Lambs Discount Dons Food Center and whoever else i missed!!
A Huge shout of thanks to BankWest, Sunrise Bank, Lamb Motors, Dons Food Center, CHS River Plains, The Sully County Active Group,Ted Asmussen Grain, Black Sheep, The Rustic Emerald, Gross Farms and Second Fiddle Farmstand, Sully County Fair and Fairboard, Pigtails and Pearls Salon, Tunes and Friends and Shepherd Farms for their donations wether it was money, time, food or the use of ur businesses lot, tables or garbage cans…WE THANK YOU!!!
To those that helped keep the activities going…the kids entertained and the stories read, our Appreciation is Great…The Art Club and Mrs Perez for painting endless faces, The Books and Bagels Club and Mrs Aspelin for reading and doing crafts, The FCCLA and Mrs Lentz for manning the Caramel Apples The Sully County Snow Queens for interacting with everyone and making them smile 😀, Mr Dekker and his essay winners for doing an amazing job at taking care of all the arts and craft activities, Katie Shepherd, Karsyn and Collins and Collette Kemink for Decorating Donuts for hours!!
ALSO Jane Brehe for the horse and hayrides!!
We also want to thank all the Vendors and Food Trucks who came and gave our new event a try and we hope your small businesses had a great time!!
To the musicians and Karaoke singers…We heard you and appreciated you ❤️
A SPECIAL THANK YOU to the Community of Onida for your amazing Baking Skills!! We had SO MANY beautifully baked items and the amount was unreal!!
Then we have the committee members…you know who you are…wether you were on the street or behind the scenes…you deserve a big HURRAH!! Even small events take time, patience and a whole lot of love and caring about their small community and the kids in it, and thats what this event was for, our community!! I personally think that the Autumn on Main Festival committee killed it by putting in time, energy and countless hours of phone calls and texts to make this happen!!
LASTLY…THANK YOU TO OUR COMMUNITY AND TO ALL THAT ATTENDED AND BRAVED THE COLD AND THE WIND!! WE SINCERELY HOPE YOU HAD FUN, FOUND SOME UNIQUE AND FUN THINGS TO DO AND HAD TIME TO ENJOY ONIDA!!
