The Aksarben Ball Committee is thrilled to announce the 2026 Court of Honor inductees.

“Aksarben is delighted to recognize these inspiring leaders for the positive impact they have made across communities throughout Nebraska,” said Paige Ritter, 2026 Women’s Ball Committee Chairman. “We are proud to continue the tradition of the Aksarben Foundation selecting and honoring extraordinary citizens through this year’s Court of Honor.”

Colonel (Retired) Tom Brewer is being honored for his contributions to public service, military leadership, and veterans affairs.

Terence “Bud” Crawford is being honored for his contributions to development of young people, philanthropy, and community revitalization.

Gene Klein, LMHP is being honored for his contributions to child advocacy, child protection, and nonprofit leadership.

Brenda Smith is being honored for her contributions to law enforcement, criminal justice education, and community mentorship.

Paul Younes is being honored for his contributions to business and industry, hospitality, and community development.

The Aksarben Court of Honor, established in 1988, is one of the Foundation’s most prestigious awards. The recognition is presented annually to individuals who have demonstrated exceptional achievement and leadership in one or more of the following categories: Agriculture, Arts, Business and Industry, Community Service, Education, Philanthropy, Professions, Public Service, Sports, or Service to Young People.

These honorees will be recognized at this year’s Aksarben Ball on October 10, 2026.

The 2026 Aksarben Ball will be held in Omaha on October 10, 2026 and official planning has begun!

Introducing the leadership for the 2026 Aksarben Ball. The Women's Ball Committee will be lead by Chair Paige Ritter with Carolyn Sutton acting as Advisor. They will coordinate with Alicia Edsen, 2026 Chair of the Aksarben Ball Committee and Mike Cassling, the 2026 Chair of the Aksarben Board of Governors. John Weichmann will serve as Vice Chair of the Aksarben Ball Committee and Terry Kroeger will serve as Advisor of fhe Aksarben Ball Committee.

The Women's Ball Committee has started the new year strong with fresh energy, welcoming six new members to the team planning the 2026 Aksarben Ball.

The Women's Ball Committee is excited to share the announcement that the Aksarben Foundation names Paige Ritter as the 2026 Chair of the Women's Ball Committee. Ritter, a past Queen in 2004, joined the WBC in 2024 and served as Production Chair at this year's Ball. Ritter has been actively involved in the Omaha community through many endeavors including QLI Board of Directors, Project Harmony Board of Directors, the Lauritzen Gardens Guild, and others.

Ritter will join Alicia Edsen, Senior Vice President at Kiewit Corporation, who will serve as the Aksarben Ball Committee Chair. Edsen will lead the Aksarben Ball Committee in advancing opportunities that strengthen the region’s workforce, education, and community prosperity.

As the Women's Ball Committee Chair, Ritter will be advised by Carolyn Sutton, the 2025 WBC Chair.

Families across Nebraska united in celebration of volunteerism, philanthropy, and community spirit at the 130th Aksarben Ball. Beyond the night of the Ball, these young leaders experience opportunities to connect with influential business and civic leaders, gaining perspectives that will guide their futures.
