Learn the importance of settling affairs and creating a will. Prepare to be a legal guardian and how to take care of your dependents responsibly.

Event Highlight: The Pillowcase Project and Hands-only CPR through the American Red Cross.

Kids will receive a pillowcase to decorate and add to a personal emergency supply kit. They'll learn about environmental hazards relevant to their area and how to prepare for them.

Hands-only CPR is a simple skill to have so you can feel confident and act if someone is experiencing cardiac arrest. It keeps vital organs going until qualified personnel arrive to take over and a great skill to have in case of emergency.

Event Highlight: Child Identification Program provided by the Freemasons of Nebraska

Come assemble an identification kit for your children free of charge! Items that are included are vital in aiding law enforcement in the case of a child going missing. In addition to receiving the kit, learn about how to keep your children safe and preventing such an incident from ever occurring in the first place.

September is National Preparedness Month. This reminds us that we all must prepare ourselves and our families now and throughout the year for personal and natural disasters. The devastating floods of the midwest this spring reminded our communities that we will often be the first ones to take action after a disaster strikes and before first responders arrive.

Plan to attend our FREE Preparedness event Saturday, September 21, 9am-noon. All are welcome! Bring, family, neighbors, coworkers, and employees to learn about emergency preparedness through interactive presentations, hands on workshops, and educational booths.
