Washington State Governor's Cup Washington State Governor's Cup Taekwondo Championship The U.S. The Governor's Cup is held in the Fall and is hosted by the USMAC.

Martial Arts Center (USMAC) is proud to host the longest running and most prestigious taekwondo tournament in the Washington State. It began as the Capital City Invitational in 1989 and was official changed to the Governor’s Cup in 1995. What started off as a small local tournament has seen several thousands competitors competing in both forms and sparring competitions in all age groups. The tournament boasts competitors from around the region, including Washington, California, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Alaska, and Canada. Past guests of the Governor's Cup were Washington State Governors: Booth Gardner and his wife, Mike Lowry, Gary Locke, Washington State Attorney General Christine Gregoire, and many dignitaries such as house representatives and senators, police chiefs, and other community leaders. The USMAC annually donates proceeds from the tournament to local charities.

Please be advised that The Evergreen State College (ESC) has a No Outside Food & Beverage Policy for events held at the ESC Costantino Recreation Center (Main Venue).

This includes no food delivery service into the venue.

Their will be a concession stand run by The ESC for the main venue. Also other food options on campus to enjoy near by. The Greenery (the campus cafeteria) and The Drop (the campus cafe) will be open on Saturday.

All athletes, coaches, spectators, and families are asked to respect the college's facility policies and rules.

We appreciate everyone's cooperation in helping us maintain a positive relationship with our event venue.

We are excited to welcome athletes, coaches, and families to the 2026 Washington State Governor's Cup!

As we prepare for competition day, please review the Reporting Times & Schedule of Events and the following important reminders to help ensure a smooth and successful tournament!

⏰ REPORTING TIMES & EVENT SCHEDULE

Please review the posted schedule carefully and arrive according to your division's designated reporting time. Athletes should be ready to compete when called.

📋 CREDENTIAL PICKUP & WAIVERS (WAGOVCUP.COM)

All athletes must bring their COMPLETED AND SIGNED WAIVER when picking up credentials.

Please have your paperwork ready to help expedite the credential pickup process.

🥋 ATHLETE STAGING & CHECK-IN

All athletes must check in at the designated staging area for their event.

Please pay attention to staging announcements and reporting times.

Athletes are responsible for reporting on time and being ready when their division is called.

🛡️ PROPER COMPETITION EQUIPMENT

All athletes must bring the appropriate uniform and required protective equipment for their events.

Sparring competitors should ensure their protective gear is complete and in proper condition.

Brown Belt through Black Belt sparring divisions will use the Daedo Gen 3 PSS.

Board Breaking competitors will pick up their purchased boards at the rings during competition.

Please check your equipment before arriving to avoid unnecessary delays.

⚠️ IMPORTANT REMINDER

Coaches, athletes, and parents are encouraged to review all event information ahead of time. Being prepared and reporting on time will help us keep the competition running smoothly throughout the day.
