Heads up everyone! The indoor arena will be closed for some intense grooming at 5pm today to prep it for American Made Rodeo Drill Team try outs from 6pm-8pm tonight!
The outdoor is groomed and open as well as the track and haul ins for both are welcome!
Also, I have received quite a few emails and messages about the calendar either not loading or showing an incomplete schedule. I'll work on that later today when I can sit down in front of my computer. I would love to say I'll get it done on my phone, but my phone and I are currently not getting along.
Maybe the next update will fix that. Who knows. Maybe it'll be a whole upgrade.

Anyway, this is a quick note to those of you who might be looking at the schedule and thinking WTF? As usual, if you have questions, shoot them my way and I will do my best to answer.

🎃 Tis the Season to Be Spooky! 🎃

October 31st Halloween Fun Day!
I had some pretty big plans, but since we can't do everything and we never know what the weather might throw our way, here is what we have planned so far!

👻 Horse-Friendly Halloween Haunted Maze 👻
The haunted maze will take up the entire indoor arena and will be made up of 6 sections, each ending with its own activity station.
The goal is to combine a trail course, obstacles, and fun games into one exciting challenge. Each maze section will feature its own spooky element and will be approximately 30 feet long, opening into a station with an activity that must be completed before moving on to the next section.
There will be plenty of room for spooks, detours, passing other riders, and even skipping stations if needed. Each section and activity station will be worth points.

Challenge Goal: Earn as many points as possible while completing the maze in the shortest amount of time!
Once you've completed the maze, you'll be able to choose from our prize table. Best of all, you can go through the maze as many times as you'd like.

🎃 Pricing 🎃
💥NO PRE-ENTRY NEEDED! 💥
• $10 Halloween Special Haul-In Fee (per horse)
• $20 per Maze Ride
• $60 Unlimited Maze Rides
🕘 Maze Hours 🕔
The maze will be open October 31st from 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM.
🍬 Trunk or Treat 🍬
Last but not least, we are planning a Trunk or Treat! Depending on space and weather, it will be held in either the outdoor arena, overflow parking area, or the main parking lot.
Free to attend!
🕠 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM
We can't wait to celebrate Halloween with everyone and their horses! More details coming soon! 🎃🐴👻

The storm threw a mega‑fit, a wild rodeo of doom,
Wind break‑dancing sideways, rain tap‑dancing in the room.
The power noped out fast “I’m clocking off, goodbye!”
Leaving daylight confused like, “Uh… should I still try?”
Yet the arenas stayed open, proud as can be,
Indoor, outdoor, track all yelling, “Come ride with me!”
Just bring a lantern or headlamp to survive the sight,
’Cause it’s a stormy ghosty circus in broad daylight!

We made the medical decision to humanely euthanize the c**t after extensive diagnostics. Necropsy confirmed a large internal inguinal ring defect with entrapped small intestine, a condition unlikely to be surgically repairable. Moira handled everything well and will be picked up from Pilchuck in the morning. She is now available as a nurse mare candidate.

We made the medical decision to humanely euthanize the c**t following extensive diagnostics and consultation. His dam, Moira, remained with him throughout hospitalization. She is handling the situation well and will be picked up from Pilchuck in the morning. She is now available as a nurse mare candidate.

Necropsy findings identified a large defect on the inside of the internal inguinal ring, approximately three finger‑widths in size. This was not a standard inguinal hernia; the defect would have been extremely difficult to surgically correct. A segment of small intestine was entrapped within the defect, and the pathology suggests it was likely present from birth, potentially related to foaling trauma.

Given the severity of the defect and the poor prognosis for surgical correction or recovery, euthanasia was confirmed to be the appropriate medical decision.

Happy birthday! It's a boy! A BIG boy! His two full siblings are solid black so we were a bit surprised when a little bay face popped out! He's a bit windswept in the back but that is completely expected when you have legs that long! As usual Moira is an attentive mama and has settled down with a mash and extra snacks while he figures out this whole standing and walking thing.
That wraps up our foaling season for this year. 3 healthy mama's and babies. Just in time for blanket sales!

Now if you will excuse me, I am going to bed. 🤣
