We regret to announce that no BBKC is planned for 2021. With so many uncertainties, a tough sponsorship climate, and the large number of hours and $ it takes to pull this off, we just could not see a feasible path forward at the moment. There are several major kayak fishing events coming to Broken Bow Lake this year, which we encourage your participation in. BBKC7 HAS BEEN CANCELED AS OF 3/15/2020

Friends, just days ago, I posted a notice indicating that the Beavers Bend Kayak Classic (April 18th, 2020) would proceed as planned with some minor formatting changes to prevent mass gatherings. Unfortunately, as of tonight, the CDC, our insurance, and state parks, no longer feel this is a viable plan. This is forcing us to cancel the tournament, so that we can remain viable for future events. I wanted to get you this information early, as I certainly understand the great time, planning, and expense you put into this. My hopes are that you will receive this in time to get lodging you may have booked refunded or rescheduled.

All those who already registered will see this refund via PAYPAL in the full amount. I will personally cover the nonrefundable fees. This will take a few days, as I have to do each of these manually.

Sponsors, we cannot thank you enough for your generosity. We plan to reschedule this at a date when the world is a bit less crazy. We hope all those who love kayak fishing send you much business.

Volunteers, you are my heroes. This is an enormous event with a ton of working parts. You always had my back. I am ever grateful.

Reel Recovery, you are doing all the good in this world. We will figure out a way to continue our support.

Raffle Ticket Buyers for the Jackson Kayak Bite, this will still happen. We will have an announcement soon.

To all my coworkers at OKC KAYAK and TULSA KAYAK: I see you. You have worked on this tirelessly for the last four months. Melissa Day, you ran with this like none other. Your day and night efforts to obtain sponsors and a record number of kayaks donated was unreal!

I will close by asking you to help me spread the word about this unfortunate notification. The dedicated website will reflect the same as of tomorrow afternoon. In the six years of having the event, and nearly two decades of running the kayak stores, my biggest paycheck has been all the friendships I have made via the sport of kayaking. Melissa, myself, and the tournament crew look forward to this resuming in the future.

We have been grabbing sponsors by the leg and turning them upside down to shake some great prizes out of their pockets. I found myself hanging upside down by my own leg. Oklahoma Kayak sure happy to be a part of this event every year. Thanks for shopping online or in both stores. We appreciate you.
