This , we want to take a moment to honor and recognize Michael Wilson an incredible engineer, teammate, and friend to many.
Michael is a proud graduate of Oklahoma State University and previously worked for Guernsey Engineering, where he dedicated 13 years of his life to our industry. Through his strong work ethic, leadership, and passion for excellence, Michael left a lasting impact on every project and every person he worked alongside.
When asked about some of his most memorable projects, Michael shared:
• First major projects: OKC Thunder Practice Facility & Halliburton Unit Test Facility
• Most technical: OSU Library Auxiliary & Boeing OKC Facility
• Most satisfying: Large geothermal projects at electric cooperatives, including Tri-County, Red River Valley, and the LEED Gold Central Rural Electric project
His contributions continue to inspire those who had the privilege of working with him.
Michael is currently retired after being diagnosed with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) in 2017 at the age of 35. ALS is a progressive neurological disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord, leading to muscle weakness and loss of mobility. Despite the challenges he faces, Michael continues to demonstrate incredible strength, courage, and grace every single day, along with his signature sarcastic sense of humor.
In honor of Engineers Week, we want to give a special shoutout to Michael for his years of dedication, integrity, and service. Your legacy in our industry is strong, and your impact reaches far beyond the work you did.
Thank you, Michael. We are proud to celebrate you. Keep fighting and keep advocating for others affected by this disease. 💙
It also wouldn’t feel right without giving a special shoutout to his biggest supporters — his wife, Wendy, and daughter, Londyn. Michael is incredibly blessed to have you both by his side and in his corner.
