Oklahoma City firefighter Joshua "Josh" Kidd was tragically killed in a car crash on the morning of February 9, 2014, while driving home to Moore, Oklahoma, after finishing his shift at Fire Station 30. The 31-year-old corporal lost control of his truck on Interstate 240, which rolled over Kidd was widely remembered for his remarkable courage and resilience. After being diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease in 2011, he refused to let the degenerative condition end his firefighting career, insisting that this was his true calling. He continued to serve actively alongside his crew on the department's Blue Shift.
At the time of his passing, he was survived by his fiancée, Jessica, and his 16-month-old son, Miles. His dedication and legacy as a first responder left a profound mark on the department.
