I'm fairly certain I forgot to mention this Halloween night.

Our old school crew started a tradition of rather than shouting "HAPPY HALLOWEEN!" (we did a lot of shouting) We'd shout alternate holidays. VERY often during the height of trick-or-treating you'd hear us shouting "MERRY CHRISTMAS! HAPPY EASTER! HAPPY VALENTINES!...." And so on and so on.

This year, for the first time ever, (that I remember, widow brain is real) kids were coming up to the porch shouting "MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!" and of course we shouted back various holidays.

It was wonderful. I will miss it.

I hope you all follow me wherever I land next.

Heads up, my lovelies! There will be several blocks in Mesta Park that will be closed to vehicle traffic after 4PM on Monday. Please plan accordingly!

🎃Get ready, everyone- the trick-or-treaters are coming! Like last year, a number of blocks will be closed to vehicular traffic beginning Monday afternoon. Please refer to this handy map to plan your route! Trick-or-treating will take place on Monday, October 31.
Big, big shout-out to for spearheading this effort for Mesta Park! If you see her, give her a hug and a full-size candy bar. 👻

The Widow has submitted a request for KWTV - NEWS 9 to cover the theft of our beloved Captain's tombstone.

Something else everyone needs to know! This year the 700 block of 16th street will be CLOSED to vehicle traffic. We will be foot traffic only which will be difficult for some of you.

This was not Demencia's decision. This was mob rules, because apparently we wear out the neighbors. So hey, be kind to the rest of the block. If their lights are out, please leave them be.

For that matter, the widow doesn't have as much money for candy and not as much staff to bring candy as she's had in the past. This year is on a shoestring, my lovelies. The widow is struggling.

The Captain always prided himself that we were always the last house standing, with candy leftover. This may not be the case this final year. Again, the widow is struggling.

A most happy pre-halloween to all of you, my lovelies. As Widow of the Manor, my sincerest apologies for neglecting the page this year, but the Widow has been left to do all the set up on her own with but a little help from Zombie.

Today tragic theft visited our Manor. This is our last year here, the Manor is for sale as the Widow can no longer physically or financially maintain since the death of her Captain. Today our dear departed, beloved Captain's tombstone was stolen. I have taken down the rest of the graveyard to protect the rest of the beautiful tombstones, although I was SUPER EXCITED to tell you that we had just won the BEST GRAVEYARD award in the neighborhood decorating competition.

The Widow is heart and soul sick, and devastated by this loss. This was not a cheap, store bought "decoration." It was lovingly handcrafted by our departed Captain, and his widow has been laid low. I even considered turning the lights out altogether but no, this is our last year together at this location and we will persevere.

So hey, hi everybody. The Lady of The Manor has a sad announcement.

The Manor is officially on the market for sale. Following the untimely demise of Our Captain, The Lady of the Manor can no longer physically or financially keep up with this Manor and the decision has been made to sell. The timing is awful, but it is what it is.

I don't know if I'll be here or not at halloween, but rest assured wherever Demencia goes, Halloween will go with her.

This year might suck. But it will get better. When I land at Manor 2.0 everyone will know. We love you and will get back to you as soon as we can.
