Despite the deluge of rain, thunder, and lightning, Anne-Marie finished the rolling Silver Springs Boulevard 5K course in 17:35, which amounts to a 5:40 per mile split and the FIRST EVER FEMALE to win the OVERALL champion of the Reindeer Run in its 30+ history (unless someone tells us otherwise)!

Since graduating from Belleview High School in 20ll, the UCF sophomore has established herself as her program’s top runner with the Freshman records in the 5K and 6K in 2012, recorded an 11th place finish at the 2013 NCAA South Region Championship, and rewrote the 13-year-old 5K record at UCF (16:50.19)!

Her sister, Catherine Blaney, also had a strong race with a 6th overall and 1st in the 16-19 age group in 19:56. Catherine, as a freshman, finished up the 2013 season as the #2 runner on the USF Women’s Cross Country team.

Side note: One of their parents’ first dates was the Reindeer Run, both winning the overall Male and Female races… a long time ago. Doesn’t that make you feel warm inside?

We know that this time of year has people rushing all over the place for gift shopping or holiday parties, so if you were one of the people that had to leave early, BELOW is a link to the race results. Check your time and where you finished!

If you were one of the people that was a top three finisher in your age group and didn't stay to reap the bounty that you earned with your great race performance, come by Gateway Bank and we will present you with your hardware (that's racer slang for trophies and medals).

Thank you to all that made the 2013 Ocala Reindeer Run a successful event! Despite the weather, we had over 340 runners register for a memorable race this year.

For those runners that registered and did not get a t-shirt on the day of the race: We are printing those shirts this week and you can come by Gateway Bank to pickup your shirt starting Monday, Dec. 23rd!

Also, if you were a top finisher and left before recieveing your award, you may come by and recieve your award during the bank's normal hours of business.

The parade is going to be delayed by about 30 minutes, which The means the Reindeer Run will start @ 5:00 pm.

Come pick up your race packets at the rear of Gateway Bank. Parking is in the back of the bank off of Fort King. Parking is also available at MTI.
