We want to take time right now to remember a very dear friend to us personally as well as to many of you who have attended the Bluegrass Opry Barn for many years. Kim Epple was a great singer. She had a very glowing personality. Kim passed away almost 10 years ago on Oct 4, 2016. We want to dedicate this video to her memory and hope everyone who watches gets a blessing from her talents.

What a great festival we had this year! I want to thank all those who volunteered to help at the gate, with the campers, with the stage area, the vendors, the bands and musicians, and especially those who came to enjoy several days of good bluegrass music! It takes so many people to make it all come together.

If you have any suggestions for the 2027 festival, please let us know.

We look forward to seeing you again at Van Wert in 2027!

Until then, please drive safely and be kind to one another.

We have a full evening and night of bluegrass starting at 5PM today. You don't want to miss the entertainment. In addition to the music, the fellowship at a bluegrass festival is second to no other event you can attend. Bluegrass people are very friendly. If this is your first time attending, there's a huge chance you will leave with new friends! Also, the band members love talking one on one with fans and attendees. Make you sure to tell them how much you appreciate their talents. Some of them have merchandise tables and will be happy if you take home a t-shirt or recording. Tell your neighbors about the festival. They also don't want to miss this. We have good food vendors on site. Bring your lawn chairs. The concert area is in one of the barns. The weather is great. The sun is beautiful. We strive to make this a family friendly event and ask that all attendees do the same thing. If you bring your children, who knows, they may show an interest in learning an instrument and maybe in a few years they will be appearing on stage. The Van Wert County Fairground is the place to be today and tomorrow. Please be safe in your travels. We look forward to seeing your smiling face!

The weather report is sounding good for the end of the week and weekend. Campers are already in the fairground. Jamming has started. Thursday evening is all Gospel on the stage. The concert area is under shelter. We have three bands performing. You are sure to get a blessing from the music. We hope to see a lot of smiling faces throughout the weekend. It warms the hearts of the musicians to see people in the audience tapping their feet, clapping their hands, smiling, and enjoying the music. Bluegrass music is truly an American art form. It is the folk music of the Southern Appalachian Mountains. We do hope that you will come and be with us. If you have never been to a bluegrass festival, this is the perfect opportunity to see what it's all about. If you have any questions please reach out on this page or call 419-956-2311. Please be safe in your travels and we hope to see you soon.

Sad news at the beginning of this week. We just learned that our friend and bluegrass fan and attendee, Art Sauber, passed away over the weekend. Art was a good man who always had a kind word. We will miss seeing him at the shows and the festival at Van Wert. Prayers to his family and friends.

View Arthur C. Sauber's obituary, send flowers, find service dates, and sign the guestbook.
