Oakland Fashion Week was founded with a tri-fold purpose; to promote Oakland’s talented designers, models, and artists; to promote the economic development of the region by focusing on nurturing the creative class especially those involved in fashion and beauty oriented businesses as well as in the arts; and to partner with local charities to create aw

areness and encourage community involvement. Catwalks in Oakland will light up the week as the Oakland Fashion Week makes its debut. The city's most stylish week will promote the up and coming fashion community in Oakland by networking local models, designers, buyers and community leaders, all to assist in helping raise money for charity.Also making their debut at OFW will be 55 models and 15 designers spanning the Oakland metropolitan area and neighboring cities. Men, women and children of all sizes and ages will strut the runway in early February, hoping to make the cut to showcase the spring/summer fashion lines and accessories by local talented designers. Local hair stylists and makeup artists will also be featured in the “OFW” production. "It's about learning and coming together from all walks in life in the Oakland area to make a great production,"
