Everybody wants to talk about grace under pressure. Nobody wants to talk about the phone calls.

I love the phone calls.

I love the vendor who tells me the truth about their timeline. The caterer who says what will not work before it does not work. The venue lead who knows the freight elevator better than the drawings do.

That is where the event actually gets built. Long before event day, the relationships are already doing their job.

So when something moves at 4:55, and something always moves, it is not a crisis. It is a phone call to somebody who already trusts me.

That is the job. I’m just doing it. 📞
