This street festival grew out of the wonderful Oakland Art Murmur gallery crawl, which runs each First Friday. The event is now managed by and as part of the non-profit group KONO, the community benefit district. This monthly arts event welcomes visitors to experience Oakland as a unique urban destination celebrating the arts, creativity, food, the entrepreneurial spirit, cultural investment, grow

Dear Oakland,

This event exists because of you. Every month, we work to create a space where our community can gather, celebrate local artists, support small businesses, and experience the culture that makes The Town special.

Last night was a great turnout! We thank everybody for coming out to enjoy the night at Oakland’s first Friday! Make sure you guys continue to support! We appreciate the community ! Special shout out to all the vendors, all staff, security, the OPD and the mayor. We also would like to thank city Council and the staff behind the scenes of Oakland’s first Friday.
