Conversation Lab Conversation Lab is a project that explores the factors that encourage and discourage human connecti What Happens?:
A broad topic is chosen for each event.

Why?:
Many common forms of social connection place people in groups with people who are similar to themselves. Often times, this results in invisible barriers that make it difficult to have relationships with people outside one's own age range, pay grade, belief system, race, etc. I believe that conversation between strangers who are unlike each other is the quickest way to break down such barrier

s, and yet it can be difficult to find places to connect in this way. Conversation Lab should be a place where it's possible to move through these invisible barriers more fluidly, in turn exposing guests to people they may never have a conversation with otherwise. The event begin with some introspective work on that topic so that everybody has something to bring to the conversation, then the room breaks into smaller groups for conversations. At the end everyone fills out a short survey to help improve the event for next time.
