Celebrate Oak Ridge

Celebrate Oak Ridge is gearing up for the next festival and invites anyone who is interested in joining the Celebrate Oak Ridge Board to contact Board Chair Naomi Asher ([email protected]). The main areas chairs are needed for the board are: children's activities, finance, logistics, marketing, merchandising, programs, publicity, sponsors, tech village, and vendors.
In order to have a festival, board members and chairs are need to be actively involved in all aspects of the planning and ex*****on. This continues to be an all volunteer effort.

The last statement we wanted to make 2 weeks before festival, but here we are.

Yes, we understand it might seem confusing to still have concerts when other activities have been canceled. There are several factors at play. It became almost impossible to get enough volunteers due to the pandemic. This makes it almost impossible to run many of the festival areas, especially with additional pandemic protocols.

We had to cancel everything inside due to exposure. We are also highly aware that 0-12 is the fastest growing demographic for illness so having children's activities was ultimately determined to be unsafe.

We are all disappointed. We did feel that many people would prefer to maintain a portion of the festival rather than have everything cancelled. We apologize again.

**Side note. There is a rumor than a festival organizer was diagnosed with Covid-19. This is untrue.**
