VFW Post 805 .1K Race At Your Own Pace to Benefit the VFW National Home for Children and VFW Post 805 Race at your own pace!

O'Fallon's Original .1K, and the VFW's Original .1K, VFW 805 .1K is a short run that goes a long way towards helping veteran and military families through VFW Post 805 and the VFW National Home for Children. At the length of just one city block with a water break in the middle, it's truly a "run" everyone can finish.

🇺🇸 With Memorial Day approaching, we are reminded that each fold of a flag holds meaning. The final fold however, the one right before the flag is cradled and handed to a grieving family, says what words cannot. We pause in silence for the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. We honor their memory, their families, and the weight of every fold that tells their story. We will never forget.

🇺🇸 Belleville Memorial Day Parade, May 25, 10 a.m., Starts on North 3rd & West A Street, and travels on Mascoutah Avenue to Walnut Hill Cemetery. A Memorial Day Ceremony will then take place at 11 a.m. there.
🇺🇸 O'Fallon Memorial Day Ceremony, May 25, 11:30 a.m. at the Veterans Monument located on 737 Wesley Drive. Major. Gen. Charles D. Bolton, 18th Air Force commander, is the guest speaker. In the case of inclement weather, the ceremony will be moved to the First Baptist Church, located at 1111 East Highway 50 in O’Fallon.
🇺🇸Mascoutah Memorial Day weekend events:
▶️ Veteran’s Ball Park Dedication Ceremony, May 22, 5:30 p.m., at the Mascoutah High School Ball Fields
▶️ Flag Placement at Mascoutah City Cemetery, May 23, 10 AM
▶️ Memorial Day Remembrance Ceremony, May 25, Noon, American Legion Post 292

I will be at the post on Tuesday before the meeting about 530pm if anyone who did not pick up their package wishes to do so. We did not have extra shirts to sell. If you signed up the week of the race, you probably were too late for a shirt. There are a few packets for those who did sign up before the deadline.

Packet pickup can begin at 1pm today. Tina Welmon and Kipp Reed will be in the small hall to disperse them.
Remember, if you're having someone else pick up, that's fine but we'll need to notate it so we know who has your packet.
If you haven't signed up or if you signed up late, we will have shirts on a first come first serve basis. Any leftovers after everyone who registered has their shirts will be offered for sale.
Thank you to everyone who participates! We could not help our fellow veterans and Active duty without the support of the community. You mean the world to us!!

We will be making up the race packets tonight! The excitement is almost unbearable!! You can pick up on Friday afternoon or Saturday morning.

And just another reminder, if you didn't sign up by March 29th, shirts are on a first come, first serve basis starting friday!

The VFW Post 805 Point 1k registration is now open! Early registrations will be open until 19 March 2025; register now to guarantee you a t-shirt. After 19 March, you can still register up until the day of the event, but .1k t-shirt is not guaranteed.
