The Nowthen Historical Power Association is looking for one or two volunteers to help with weekly mowing at our show grounds.

This opportunity offers flexibility, as mowing can be completed during daytime or evening hours. Volunteers would be operating a zero-turn mower, and while experience is helpful, we're happy to answer any questions about the role.

If you enjoy spending time outdoors and would like to help keep our grounds looking their best for visitors and events, we'd love to hear from you!

Please send us a direct message or email [email protected] for more information.

Thank you for supporting NHPA and helping preserve our local history!

A huge THANK YOU to our dedicated members and board members who stepped up this past week and weekend to help update the front of our Print Shop and Mercantile Building at the Nowthen Historical Power Association grounds. We also found a surprise hiding in one of the walls.

Projects like this are only possible because of the generosity, hard work, and commitment of volunteers who are willing to give their time and talents to improve our grounds and preserve our association for future generations.

We can’t thank everyone enough for the many hours invested in this project. The improvements look fantastic, and we’re grateful to have such an amazing group of people who continue to make NHPA a special place.

Thank you all for your hard work and dedication!

🔍 Welcome to Another Week of “What Is It Wednesday!” 🔍
Hey Nowthen Threshing Show Fans! We’ve been having so much fun with this series — thank you to everyone who’s joined in and shared your guesses so far! 🙌
It’s time for another round of “What Is It Wednesday!” Each week, we post a mystery antique item and let you guess what it is — or what it was used for. 🕵️‍♂️🕵️‍♀️
Remember, we’d love your help keeping this going! Send in photos and a few details about your old tools, equipment, implements, household items, or other pioneer inventions. You can message us here on Facebook or email [email protected]
From time to time, we might even slip in a close-up photo of something from our show grounds — or a piece of local agricultural history — just to keep you guessing! 🌾
The creativity and genius of pioneer inventors helped shape agricultural history — and we get to celebrate that legacy together each week. Let’s have some fun and keep learning! Anoka County Historical SocietyOliver Kelley FarmMinnesota History Center
