Staged at the spectacular hilltop complex of the Nativity of Christ Greek Orthodox Church in the Ignacio Hills of Novato, the Festival offers a sensory banquet for the entire family. Annually more than 5000 festival-goers come to eat, drink, dance, visit, shop, enjoy speakers, or just relax and have fun both indoors and outdoors.

One of the most beautiful things about Greek culture is the strong emphasis placed on preserving heritage.

For many Greek families, heritage is not something left in the past. It is something actively passed down through language, traditions, faith, food, music, stories, and everyday customs. This is especially true in Greek communities outside of Greece, where preserving culture often becomes an even more intentional part of family life.

So often, that cultural education begins at home and in the church. It is strengthened through annual Greek festivals, Greek schools, community organizations, family gatherings - simple but meaningful traditions that children grow up seeing and experiencing year after year.

I think that is one of the most powerful parts of being Greek. There is such a deep desire to hold on to what matters and make sure it continues from one generation to the next. That is also very much what this page is about. Celebrating, sharing, and helping preserve Greek culture and traditions for future generations.

What is one thing about being Greek that you hope future generations will always hold on to? 💙🇬🇷
