We recently unveiled a beautiful sculpture of Samuel Huntington, the first president of the United States.

Named President of the United States in Congress Assembled, Norwich historians stand by the fact that he was the true first President of the United States.

A key piece of US history was resembled through the work of Haitian artists Samson Tonton and Roosevelt Camille, incredibly talented Norwich locals.

You can visit the bust when it goes “on tour” at various events throughout the summer, starting with tomorrow, July 4, at the Liberty Bell Ringing at City Hall at 1:30pm. This event has moved inside due to the heat.

Other events happening this weekend
are:
🎆 Norwich Harbor Fireworks on July 3 from 6-9pm in downtown Norwich
🎆 Military Appreciation night with postgame fireworks at Dodd Stadium on July 3
🎆 Life, Liberty and Lunch on the Lawn on July 5 - hosted by the official America's 250th Norwich CT committee

*Notice, Calling All Patriots to Leffingwell House has been postponed due to heat.

We can’t wait to see everyone while visiting the Samuel Huntington statue and attending events this weekend!
