Over the past couple years, Norway has started to produce nice salmon. Last year we got a taste of a few nice salmon and this year we were surprised by what we saw.
A 5.6lb salmon. Regardless of where you are is a great fish, and for Norway that’s a giant. Followed up by a 4.6lb salmon.
Both these fish were BV Marked. Meaning both Ventral Fins Clipped. And going with the states four year rotation these fish were stocked in 2023. At either 16” or 18”.
Both these fish were caught from the Lake. One we basically saw come right out of the hole with hollering to follow it and one still kicking when weighing it.
I forgot the guys name but I think it was Dylan Rawlings had a reputable rainbow measuring at 21 1/4” 4.1lbs
Some people say we’re killing the lake. But yet year after year the trout and salmon look super healthy. There no racer trout this year.
In my opinion, i would do research on Norway if I was the state. Trap netting salmon, increasing stocking rates to see the outcome because obviously they are holding over and gorging themselves in bait for a reason.
Sorry for the rant!!! Just super impressed how everything went this year, and that all starts with you guys.
