How soon should you book your next event?
For most events, booking your venue 6–12 months in advance is ideal — but it depends on the type of event, season, and how flexible you are with dates. Here at The Victorian we can often accommodate even large events with 6 months notice.
Here’s a general guide:
Weddings: 12–18 months ahead (especially for peak summer/fall weekends)
Corporate events & fundraisers: 6–12 months
Birthday parties, showers, reunions: 3–6 months
Holiday parties: 6–9 months, especially for December dates
Small gatherings or weekday events: 1–3 months
Some other considerations:
Is your event during peak season (May–October or a holiday
Do you want a Saturday evening (most popular)
Do you need time to coordinate catering, décor, lodging, or vendors
If your timeline is shorter, don’t panic — many venues still have openings due to cancellations or flexible scheduling. Here at The Victorian we work hard to be creative and accommodate events with short turn around time.
However, if you know you have something coming up, have a preferred date or a specific vision you want brought to life, sooner rather then later is always best!
