St. Tim's Coffeehouse Receives Regional Recognition
Did you know that St. Tim's Coffeehouse, one of the concert series held in The Listening Room at Lutheran Church of the Ascension, is gaining recognition well beyond our local community?
Originally established at St. Timothy's Lutheran Church, the coffeehouse found a new home at Lutheran Church of the Ascension - Northfield IL following the closure of St. Timothy's. Since then, it has continued its tradition of bringing exceptional singer-songwriters and acoustic musicians to our community in an intimate listening-room setting.
This fall, St. Tim's Coffeehouse has been selected to host a Private Showcase Room at the annual FARM (Folk Alliance Region Midwest) Conference in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The showcase will take place on Thursday, October 22, 2026, from 10:30 p.m. to 2:30 a.m., during the conference's opening night.
The FARM Conference brings together artists, presenters, venues, and music enthusiasts from across the Midwest and beyond. St. Tim's showcase will feature a hand-selected lineup of talented singer-songwriters, providing emerging artists and musicians from outside the region an opportunity to introduce their music to Midwest audiences and presenters. Sandy will be assisted by Bruce Hoffman, a long time subscriber to the series.
Among the performers already selected for slot is acclaimed singer-songwriter David Roth, who delighted audiences during St. Tim's 2025–2026 concert season.
As part of the event, the St. Tim's team will also promote The Listening Room @ Ascension with display banners and hospitality for conference attendees, helping introduce our concert series—and Ascension—to the wider folk music community.
