Northbridge Tree Lighting Celebration

If you weren't able to make it to our Tree Lighting Celebration this past Saturday, I encourage you to take a drive through our beautiful downtown sometime over the next several weeks. It truly is a wonderful sight to see.

We also want to thank a few groups who helped make the day extra special. Our gratitude goes out to the Northbridge Police Department, the Northbridge Fire Department, & our wonderful DPW. They all contributed to a successful event for all! And behind the scenes, a special thank-you to Tom Kuik, who generously donated his time (as he often does) to update some much needed electrical work on the common.

Of course, special thanks go to the Holiday Lights Planning Committee, led by Joanna Schomberg. Committee members include Melissa Caito, Julie Cray, Kayleigh Poudrier, Kathy Lyons, Lori Guerra & Cheryl Tivnan. We are also grateful to the many volunteers who helped on the day of the event including the Open Sky crew.

We would love to welcome new members to the planning committee next year! The commitment involves just three to four meetings, some independent planning, and helping out on the day of the celebration. So, when there’s just too many people to thank, you make a heartfelt wish that everyone who contributed to making today’s Northbridge Tree Lighting event a resounding success knows how deeply grateful we are from the bottom of our hearts. To everyone who attended our event, your unwavering support inspires us to already envision a brighter plan for next year and years to come! This was our fifth year, and what a phenomenal turnout!! Such joy!! There is nothing more uplifting than being surrounded by radiant smiles, contagious laughter, reconnecting with old friends, melodic sounds of the season, meeting Santa, of course, and most of all, witnessing our vibrant little community come alive and sparkle with holiday magic for this most wondrous time of the year! Please take a moment when you drive through our beautiful town and know that it’s all because of you and our amazing sponsors, donators, supporters, contributors, decorating elves, and the Northbridge Tree Lighting Committee (who is always looking for more volunteers 😃) that helps make this happen!

A heartfelt thank you to the Northbridge Beautification Committee for another incredible Holiday Tree Lighting event! This cherished tradition continues to bring our community together and fill our town with joy and holiday spirit.

The 2024 event was a huge success, with something for everyone – from activities and entertainment to treats and letters to Santa, everyone’s contributions and fundraising efforts helped play a part in lighting up our charming town common. A special thank you to our first responders, fire department, local businesses, volunteers, Toys for Tots, face painters, balloon artists, raffle donors, baked goods providers, carolers, performers, and of course, Santa, who made the day so memorable.

We even had a surprise "Hallmark Channel" moment with a beautiful marriage proposal – maybe a new tradition in the making!

Our town has never looked so Merry & Bright. This event was a perfect reminder of what the holidays are all about – community, connection, and spreading hope.
