Celebrate music students of the graduating class during commencement! The Chamber Music Concert will be held on Friday, May 15th at 4:30pm, followed by the Orchestra Concert at 8:30pm. The Choral Concert, featuring works chosen by members of the senior class, will be held on Saturday, May 16th at 5:00pm. All three events will be free and open to the public in Sweeney Concert Hall.

Many thanks to the incredible team of students who work in the SmithArts Box Office and Publicity Office. Nancy and Shelley threw an appreciation tea party and were blessed with five graduating seniors (the ones with the crowns, natch). One more chance to see an evening of student-directed one-act plays tonight, Friday, May 1 at 7:30 pm in Hallie Flanagan Studio Theatre. The 2026 Spring Studio Productions include Malefactions by Matt Minnicino directed by Kim Suarez-Villao ’28 and The Mystery at Twicknam Vicarage by David Ives directed by Amy Lu ’28. The Smith College Department of Theatre presents an evening of student-directed one-act plays Thursday, April 30 & Friday, May 1 at 7:30 pm in Hallie Flanagan Studio Theatre. April 26-May 2: As we near the end of the school year, Smith Arts has some exciting events lined up for the public to enjoy! At 1pm today, Sunday, the Handbell Ensemble's Spring Ring concert will be held in Helen Hills Hills Chapel. The following ensembles will perform their Spring Concerts at 7:30pm in Sweeney Concert Hall: The Wind Ensemble on Monday, The Wailing Banshees on Tuesday, and The Chinese Music Ensemble on Wednesday. On Thursday and Friday at 7:30pm, the Theatre Department's Spring Studio Productions, "The Mystery of Twicknam Vicarage" directed by Amy Lu '28 and "Malefactions" directed by Kim Suarez-Villao '28, will be held in Halle Flanagan Studio Theatre. Also on Friday, Scott Dance Studio will host performances of new work by Smith MFA 1st year candidates at 8pm. Tickets can be reserved for the Studio Productions and the Spring Grad Dance Event at smitharts.ludus.com (link also in bio). Finally, on Friday in Hillyer Graham, films by FMS students will be screened at 7pm. We here at Smith Arts look forward to finishing off the semester with you!

If you can’t make it, please contact the box office to release your tickets so we can give those seats to someone else. If you are fortunate enough to attend the last show, please arrive by 7:20 so you can get settled in before showtime. You are in for a treat! “REVERENCE,” SENIOR GROUP 3 EXHIBITION
An opening reception will be held in Janotta Gallery, Hillyer Hall tomorrow: Friday, April 24, 2026 at 4:30–7:00 PM.
Centered around the theme of “memory,” this exhibition features work by the following senior Studio Art majors: Lan Kung, Veda Hedgepeth, Risa Watanabe, Sequoia Lebreux, Tori Alcázar Gómez, and Nikté Lopez-Aleshire.
The exhibition will be on view from April 24-30, Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm.
