Over the past few months weve been helping a customer blast rock for sewer line tie ind to a new pump station. This was the last shot concluding the project. Shot was blasting approx 4' of rock on each side of an existing gravity sewer line to set a new manhole for a new intersecting sewer line. Shot was underneath high voltage transmission lines, 30' from a busy public road, 50' from an existing pump station

Seems like in this business the big buzzword thats always floating around is controlled blasting this and controlled blasting that. We'll thats great and all except when you need to physically relocate a beaver dam out of a body of water, so check out this "not so controlled" shot of a beaver dam we shot last week. Blasting can be fun!

We will be hosting a PGI Pyrotechnic Operator course on February 7 at the South East Wilkes Community Center. If you are interested in professional fireworks this is the best place to start. This course also counts as 8 hours of con-ed for those with existing license. Pre registration is required, you can register at this link:

PyroWright offers North Carolina P.G.I. classes for 8 hour safety requirement. Pyrowright also offers safety training to A.H.J. for state safety checklists.

This past year has been really been something else. About 4 years ago I had an idea that I never would've imagined turned into what it has today. 2025 being our first year of full time operations, has been marked with its fair share of successes and hard lessons learned. We are truly blessed to be able to do what we enjoy and I pray that if the Lord allows, we can continue finding success into the upcoming year.

We would like to thank all of our customers who have given us the opportunity to service their needs as well as our suppliers and those who continue to support us, we look forward to what the new year has to bring!

We've been working on this massive retention pond since September and we're finally nearing the end of the first cut. Had a nice shot Tuesday cleaning up some knots and boulders to give us a nice flat pad as we start to bench down the next pass to get final grade.
