A Taste of AfriKin" Food Festival
Highlights Global African Cuisine
On September 1, 2024, North Miami will host "A Taste of AfriKin," a culinary event celebrating the diverse flavors of Global Africa.
The festival will feature traditional dishes from 11 countries, including the Bahamas, Ethiopia, Ghana, Haiti, Jamaica, Nigeria, and Senegal.
A highlight of the event is the "Jollof Wars," a friendly culinary competition showcasing various interpretations of the popular West African rice dish.
This year, Haiti joins the competition with its Djon Djon rice, adding a new dimension to the debate.
Beyond food, the festival will also showcase African music, art, and cultural performances, offering attendees a multifaceted experience of African heritage.
The event aims to promote cultural understanding and highlight North Miami as a hub for African diaspora culture.
