Giving credit where it’s due! We can’t talk about Juneteenth without honoring the woman who made it her life’s mission to see this day nationally recognized, Dr. Opal Lee.

At 98 years young, Dr. Lee has spent decades walking, advocating, and reminding this country that freedom should be celebrated by all. While this marks the first year Dr. Lee won’t lead her annual walk, her presence, power, and purpose are felt in every Juneteenth celebration across the nation.

Today, we honor you, Dr. Opal Lee. Because of you, we truly can. ❤️✊🏾
