DO NOT MISS THIS EXHIBIT!! There is so much to love and learn from the new exhibit created by College students. "The Stitches Between Us: Women's Handwork and Our Shared Stories" at Park-McCullough is NOW OPEN! Both the exhibit design class "oh the stitchery," and the museum studies class "The Art of Archiving the Artifact," contributed to the final product: a whole house review showcased as mini-vignettes telling the stories of handcraft among women, with elements of historical dress woven in. Join us in celebrating the Park-McCullough collection with fresh eyes. Spring semester students, along with Faculty Tilly Grimes and Teaching Assistant Cianna Lee, took a collaborative deep dive into handcraft (think needlepoint, knitting, crocheting, mending, quilting, sewing, and other arts and tasks). It was a means of expression, a reflection of gender expectations and class divide, and nuanced during a time of industrialization. Take a peek here, and then don't miss the experience in person... remember, admission is FREE for all in the 2026 season! Thank you for sharing your time with us this spring semester, studentsâwe LOVE what you've created!
