We are just one month away from race day! We hope everyone is looking forward to this year's Norris Dam Hard race as much as we are!

If you're not quite up to the 25 or 50k distances but would still like a challenge, dont forget about the Dam Hard 5k. With almost 350'ft of climbing in just over three miles, we'd like to think it's one of the toughest 5k's anywhere!

The month of January is almost over and State Parks all across the State are having a donation campaign. Please consider donating to The Norris dam state Park campaign as they try to raise funds to restore the historic Rice Grist Mill. If you've ran our 25 or 50k then you know our course goes right by it! So please help keep this Norris landmark around for years to come!

We are officially one week away from the 2021 Norris Dam Hard Trail Races! Emails went out to all participants yesterday so check your inboxes.

If you havent registered yet and still want to run, we will be having Day of Race registration available this year for any distance.

We also could still use some help, so if your able, we would love to have you help at one of our Aid Stations!

The Norris Ultra Dam Hard Trail Race is on Saturday November 6, 2021. It includes the following events: Norris Ultra Dam Hard 50k, Norris Ultra Dam Hard 25k, and Norris Ultra Dam Hard 5k.

Finally...we are launching the "Norris Dam 85-Mile Challenge!" Want to start or continue living a healthy lifestyle in 2021 and earn rewards at the same time? This challenge is for anyone at any level of fitness. It has been proven that spending time outdoors has health benefits, both mentally and physically. So what are you waiting for?

Throughout 2021, simply hike, mountain bike, horseback ride, or paddle on the trails and waterways at Norris Dam State Park, TVA Norris Dam Trails or Norris Watershed trails to total 85 miles. You can hike the Songbird Trail throughout the year and log those miles. You can set your own pace, choose your own trails and walk your way towards 85 miles. NEW THIS YEAR, you can earn miles by volunteering. For each hour you can earn 2 miles. We will be offering safe volunteering opportunities throughout the year and launching an "Adopt-a-Trail" program soon. Stay tuned.

ITS RACE WEEK!

We're looking forward to seeing everyone next Saturday!

As a reminder, THERE WILL BE NO DAY OF RACE REGISTRATION, so make sure to register before Thursday at midnight if you plan to run one of the Dam Hard distances this year.

We will be sending out another round of race emails this week which should cover most everyone's questions. If there is something not covered in the email, and you still have a question, feel free to email or message us here. There will also be a pre-race meeting at about 6:45am race morning where you can ask your questions as well.

As of right now, the weather is looking stellar for race day. Let's hope that forecast holds for some great race weather!

*NEW FOR 2020*

This year's edition of the Norris Dam Hard Trail Races will feature a Dam Hard 5k for the first time!

Runners will start in the same place as the 50 and 25k races then make their way down a short section of Road before hitting rolling single track along the Lake for the first half of the race then turning onto High Point Spur Trail and climbing to the top of High Point. After passing across High Point, runners will have a long downhill before once again running a short asphalt section through the Historic CCC Cabins and on to the finish.

With over 500'ft of elevation in just over three miles, this may be the Dam Hardest 5k you ever run!
