🏠💡 Introducing Hack Your Room — a one-day, hands-on technology camp for students in grades 8 through 12 hosted by Northeast Community College!

Lights that change when you walk in. Sensors that react. Automations that make life easier. Students will “hack” their living space using Raspberry P*s, Home Assistant, and IoT devices — learning Linux and networking basics to run everything locally and securely.

Four campus locations are available this summer:
📍 West Point — June 18, 2026
📍 O’Neill — June 24, 2026
📍 South Sioux City — July 9, 2026
📍 Norfolk — July 16, 2026

Four Northeast students were recognized at the Nebraska State Capitol as members of the 2026 Phi Theta Kappa All-State Academic Team.

Selected for their academic achievement, leadership, and service, Amanda Fritzen, Emily Miller, Tiarna Law, and Isaiah Saldana represented Northeast alongside top students from community colleges across the state. Congratulations on this well-deserved recognition.

Big day in South Sioux City this past Tuesday!

We’re celebrating Northeast Community College’s New Student Registration Day in South Sioux City, and what an incredible start it was! From the first hello to the final high-five, the room was full of energy, excitement, and big dreams for the future.

Northeast utility line students earned multiple top finishes at the College Lineman Rodeo hosted by Mitchell Technical College in Mitchell, SD, securing individual and team championships against other collegiate lineworker programs.

As UL instructor Kyle Voecks said, “You can’t put a grade on what the students learned through this experience.”
