2024 is in full swing with sales really kicking in and the options of where to get your next project has never been greater and here are a few more. I had one litter of early june pigs that will work for January shows with one in it could go later due to being a little smaller. 3 barrows and 1 gilt (mkt or light cross breeding. Possible starter gilt) These ARE NOT slow growing hard doing pigs. Excellent bone. level toped . straight tracking and great appetites. feel free to text or call 334-714-3384 if you have any questions. I am including a feeder shot of a july litter perfect for FSF or early march show. I have some August litters just weaned i will post later

Just wanted to wish everyone good luck as we get started with a very hectic show season. It ended well last year with North Marion FFA chapter pigs capturing the Grand Champion and 4th overall champion pigs at the Southeastern youth fair. Good luck to everyone as the season kicks in.

The 2022 season is in full swing. March babies growing and headed for fall shows in Georgia,Florida and Alabama. Some early July babies about to be weaned and others to follow. If this year is as crazy as last better get your requests in early. Input costs have impacted all producers this year and those high grain prices will mean higher input costs for exhibitors. Shop around ,all major show feeds will perform well when you learn how to feed them. Work with local reps and beware the fad diets. Thanks to all that have gotten my pigs in the past. We have had some highs and lows I hope to help you all I can. Every experience is a learning experience.A special shout out goes to Cylee Reinke and "Dill". Last pig sold on my place and was a top 20 rank on the Florida Junior circuit. They started with wins at the National Peanut Festival and continued it to the Central Florida Fair. Peyton and Bryson Osteen stayed steady with their showing coming out of Alachua county with a buckle each. Bryson's calico gilt was carcass champion and 2nd in class. Please call if I can help

March Madness in the Livestock arena is upon us and I wish good luck to all exhibitors. Hopefully you have been weighing your pigs and know where you are at with your gain. I have no faith in accuracy of the weigh tapes. If you use one back it up with an actual weight. Had a report someone measured their pig , calculated their weight then actually weighed. 50 pounds difference. Heavier than the tape. Great if no max on your show killer if there is. Next tip , longer hair is the trend do not clip too close expecting it to grow out. It may not. no less than 1/2" and longer if it looks good. Make sure you clip ear edges. A good problem to have is more animals at the shows. But, if you have to share a pen and your pig has been by itself make sure you have a pen divider. 99% chance at some point they will fight. Call if you have any questions or concerns.

It is time for some advice. Weigh your pig. If you do not know what it weighs today then how do you know you are going to make weight 60 days from now. Most pigs gain an average of 1.7 lbs /day. Using basic math in those 60 days your pig will gain 102 lbs. Most shows have a maximum pay weight of 300 lbs so your pig could weigh 200 lbs today. I breed pigs to be 7 months old for most shows so you should have no problems. It may be too late for some but you should have been weighing every 2 weeks when you were within 60 days of your show. Knowing what your pig is gaining at this point is critical. IGNORE the pounds/day you are feeding and give it enough feed to make desired gains. There are to many variables in genetics and feeds to get locked in on pounds of feed fed.
It is your agent or teacher's job to help you get your animals weighed. They get paid to do it. Better yet borrow the school trailer, build a box for a utility trailer, become independent and get it done. It is your money invested. Do not waste it.
Please feel free to call or text me if you have any questions. Please do not wait until it is too late.

I would first like to thank all who have gotten pigs from me this year. It has been wild in that i literally had no time to post any pictures before people had placed orders and pigs were gone. Show season started great with Liz McAloney, Peyton and Bryson Osyeen bringing 4 pigs to the National Peanut Festival and winning 4 classes. Liz completed her project but Peyton and Bryson have continued doing a great job placing high on the FJSC, winning a class and brought in a 4th overall Division win in Kissimmee .Cylee Eeinke also had a class win and 4th overall division. As soon as the pigs get over being camera shy I will post pictures. I know many of you are restricted by the Marion county fair committee and cannot jackpot but i encourage you to attend some so you can hear judges comments and go home and evaluate your pig and make adjustments.
Some quick tips. 1.weigh your pig. Not with a tape but on scales. 2. Cheap feeds usually give cheap results. They are cheap because the mineral profile is not the same as show feeds. 3. deworm every 3 weeks. 4. Practice. . Feel free to contact me with any questions and mainly give me updates. Good Luck..
