This opportunity is designed to enhance the educational value of the traditional 4-H swine project by focusing on swine production, accurate record keeping, and industry knowledge and engagement by the 4-H member.

Thankful for these members who helped with our community service project today. These kiddos helped the Community Club pick up trash going south of town. One high school member helped pickup trash going north of town. Our members are awesome and such troopers . I should have taken an after picture to show how wet and sometimes muddy they got. It was a beautiful day and felt so good to give back to our community.

We would love to have more members!!! Members should be age 8 by January 1st to show at the fair. There are also several options for Cloverbuds ages 5-7.

Congratulations to all of our members showing this year. Looking at everyone's pictures it looks like Newman Huskers was well represented. All of your hard work paid off! So proud of all of you!!!

Please note that the Nebraska Extension Service and our own local 4 – H / FFA programs have not cancelled shows and events for 2020. They will still recognize the accomplishments of the 4 – H / FFA youth in Madison County and our board will support them in any way possible through this difficult time. This would include making the facilities of the fairgrounds available to them for any type of virtual, blended, or live display of the efforts and achievements of the youth in our county 4 – H programs and FFA members. Please watch for updates and notifications through the 4 – H Newsletters and e-mails from Nebraska Extension.

It is with great regret and much sadness that we announce that the 2020 Madison County Fair and Rodeo is postponed until July 6 – 11, 2021. Due to circumstances surrounding the COVID – 19 pandemic we have made this very difficult decision. Based on what we know today, large gatherings of people will not be allowed without some type of restrictions. To say that we are very disappointed is an understatement.
