I saw this lily yesterday when the world wasn't spiraling into chaos in Washington D.C. I had the choice to pluck it from its spot, growing out of an untended flowerbed on a sidewalk, but I CHOSE to leave it so that others could enjoy its beauty.
That was my CHOICE. Other women might feel differently about it and would choose to clip it, water it, put in a vase in their living room to brighten up their day.
Either way, every woman deserves a choice when it comes to their bodies. Our rights as women should ALWAYS be recognized and supported and protected.
As I prepare to open Basic Glitch tonight at Theatre Row, I can only hope that my voice and my words reach out and convince others that decisions about reproductive health belong to women and ONLY to women.
