The Music Division is one of the world's preeminent music collections, documenting the art of music in all its diversity - classical and opera as well as the whole spectrum of popular music including spirituals, ragtime, jazz, musical theater, film, rock and world music. Don't forget: Over 100,000 scores acquired prior to 1971 do not appear in our online catalog. Nearly 500,000 (half-a-million!) pieces of sheet music also do not appear in our online catalog. The NYPL Short Term Fellowship application for 2023-24 is now open - the deadline is late January... Music Librarians Dave McMullin & Rebecca Littman were beyond thrilled to work with Musicians on Call for this virtual tour of the Lou Reed Exhibition at the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts - if they can't come to us, we'll take it to them.

We had a blast teaming up with NYPL The New York Public Library to take Veterans on a virtual field trip to the Lou Reed exhibit at the library! Volunteer Musician Harris Synder got to spotlight songs from Lou and those he inspired.
You can learn more about the exhibit at https://nypl.org/loureed
