Sorry for not posting sooner....... Unfortunately Dad got COVID and needed to rest. Dad's feeling good again, but Shep and I decided when we reached Battery Park in New York that this felt like a good stopping point for the summer.
This summer Shep and I were able to cycle together another 1100 miles and we're happy we got to mark 5 more states off our bucket list. :) We were lucky to experience more fantastic sunsets, great food, and along the way Shep and even got to make new friends and inspire more people to take up this sport. Shep also wanted me to mention we saved more than a few turtles too :)
We're not sure what the future holds and if we'll want to do another tour again but we hope that all of you will be inspired to ride and spend quality time with loved ones. Its true that time really does go by quicker than we realize. Personally it's hard for me to believe 6 years has past since Shep shared with me his dream to cycle cross country with his dad. So much has happened and we really had the time of our lives experiencing this together.
I remember when I was Shepherds age my grandfather, Glen would tell me how you can't take your possessions with you when you eventually pass. During the thousands of miles Shep and I traveled together I sometimes thought about that statement. I've come to realize that while that may be true, I believe we do get to take our memories with us. So let us invest our limited time in the things that truly matter. Let us develop experiences and memories together that we can enjoy during this life and take with us to the next â¤ī¸
