The 72 Hour Film Shootout A high profile annual film competition. At least one key production member and a lead actor from each team must be of Asian descent.

The 72 Hour Film Shootout (“Shootout”) is a worldwide competition in which filmmaking teams have a total of 72 hours to write, shoot, edit and produce short films up to five minutes in length on a common theme. The competition creates opportunities for Asian Americans to demonstrate their talent, gain exposure in the entertainment industry and significantly impacts the visibility of Asian American characters in film and television. Geared towards emerging filmmakers, low-to-mid-budget independents, and later-career professionals looking to deepen their sustainable practices, filmmakers will walk away with concrete, scalable, and actionable steps to implement sustainability on their productions. Experts specializing in sustainable production across the US and UK will share their experiences navigating sustainable production practices.

NYC Film Green is an initiative of the NYC Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment. Moderated by Shira Gans, Sr. Executive Director, Policy + Programs at the Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment. Panelists include Maya Wallis Echeverri, Stephanie Dawson, and ​Harry Winer.
