In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, we wanted to spotlight a main-stage talk from last year’s Games for Change Festival, titled “Streaming Awareness: How Games & Influencers Are Sparking Mental Health & Gun Violence Conversations,” given by Taylor Maxwell, Nicole Twohig, Isaiah Pinkney, and Alyssa Sweetman. 🫂

The panel focuses on the growing gaming and streaming communities and their potential to drive powerful, life-changing conversations. It explores how game-centered campaigns are effectively educating players about mental health support and gun violence prevention.

In this particular clip, the panelist speaks about normalizing and destigmatizing asking for help when it comes to mental health, and about leveraging streamers and the gaming community to spread those messages.

Creating safe spaces to talk about mental health is the first step; let's continue to meet others where they are and support each other.
