A SHOUT OUT to Design Pavilion's Creative Director, Harry Allen . Harry earned his Masters in Industrial Design from Pratt Insitute. In 1993, he established Harry Allen Design, now an award-winning, multi-disciplinary design firm based in New York City. Although trained as an industrial designer, Harry achieved prominence in 1994 for his interior design of Moss, premiere design store in Soho, NYC. A multitude of interior design projects followed.
His product design work, shown here, spans a wide range, from furniture and lighting to packaging and accessories. The Harry Allen Design process is a unique combination of personal experimentation, cross-pollination, and strategic thinking, striving to make life more thoughtful, beautiful and joyous. For Design Pavilion, in 2018, in collaboration with Inflate UK, Harry designed the ARC inflated pavilion.
Harry's work is in the permanent collection of Museum of Modern Art (NYC), the Brooklyn Museum of Art, the Denver Museum of Art, and the Philadelphia Museum of Art. His awards include the Brooklyn Museum of Art's Modernism/Young Designer Award, and two Industrial Design Society of America IDEA Awards.
Harry does not underestimate his audience. His long-standing interests in art, new materials, and systematic design approach has influenced the creation of a list of interesting and delightful products and interiors.
