1 DAY UNTIL CARNEGIE HALL 🇺🇦🎹

From Kharkiv to Carnegie Hall, a message of pride and connection.

Natalia Govorukhina Director of the Kharkiv National University of Arts, sends heartfelt congratulations to Shelest at the Piano ahead of tomorrow’s performance.

The Alexander & Buono Foundation, in association with Razom for Ukraine and C. Bechstein, proudly presents two Ukrainian pianists performing the music of two Ukrainian composers alongside the Brandywine Valley Symphony Chamber Orchestra, led by Michael Hall, Conductor.

From the stage of Carnegie Hall, Ukraine’s music will resound on a piano generously provided by Bechstein.

Our deepest thanks to Bechstein, whose commitment extends far beyond this concert. Through Carl Bechstein Aid for Ukraine, they have placed nearly 100 pianos in Ukrainian music schools and are raising funds to restore instruments to the very university Natalia leads in Kharkiv. That support means more than an instrument. It means a student can keep learning. A musician can keep playing. And Ukraine’s music can keep reaching the world.

🎹 The program lists the works. It can’t list everything the musicians bring to them.

For Anna Shelest, the piano has shaped where she traveled, the friends she made, and the life she shares with Dmitri. After decades, she still wants it to surprise her. Her conversation with The Piano Pod offers a glimpse into one of the lives behind Sunday’s performance.

In two days, Shelest at the Piano, Michael Hall, Conductor, and the Brandywine Valley Symphony Chamber Orchestra bring their experience and interpretation to the same stage. On Sunday, those individual journeys become something the audience gets to experience together.

Spend a moment with the music before you hear their interpretation:
