Oops we ran the numbers again and look what happened with 2026

The mid -bill? Extremely Wavy.

Laufey, Blood Orange, Ethel Cain, FKA Twigs, Little Simz now that’s a wavy lineup, baby.

And making history as the first Latina to headline? Iconic.

But strip her out and the headliner tier drops to a 0.8. = not at all wavy, baby!!

One artist should not be carrying the diversity of an entire top bill, right?

🚨🌊 And we’re Live! It’s almost NY Music Month and our open mic audition spots are almost all taken… already! We’ll be at the iconic music conference on June 3rd,too so plz check out their website and register for as many events as you can - there are SO many to attend! [link in bio]

it’s not quite too late to join us for a very wavy party on June 5th where you can see some Wavy faves alongside new faces gracing the wavy stage! And one performer will be welcomed back to perform at the ceremony in September!

Y’all remember that moment from The Wavys 2022 where M the Myth, Rebecca and David Fifield talked about the Wavability Score on stage? Basically we built an indexing formula.

Then we used it, starting with the festival that started it all for us. (Rebecca was at Bonnaroo Year 1!)

The Wavability Index scores lineups by how much stage real estate actually goes to underrepresented artists; across race, gender, and LGBTQ+ identity.

Not who’s on the bill, but who’s headlining.

Did Bonnaroo 2026 tell on itself?

The mid-bill is genuinely Wavy. Blood Orange, Kesha, Alabama Shakes, Japanese Breakfast, Yungblud — stacked.

But scroll up to the top of the bill, & it’s a different story entirely.

Diversity doesn’t trickle up. (at least not without intention).

We’re totally not here to cancel a festival. We’re here to ask: what would this look like if bookers ran the numbers before the announcement?

That’s what The Wavys does. 🌊
