Each unique capstone project explores repetitions and complexity through weaving, knitting, crochet, felting, embroidering, beading, 3D printing, and biomaterials. The exhibition is a bold statement about the power of textiles, created in a unique educational program whose impact reverberates within and beyond the field of textiles.

Layers of Life
In traditional Japan, when a newborn baby touches the floor for the first time, the infant is cradled in a piece of boro boro; caressed by layers of history, families and genera-tions. The material is mended, embroidered and wadded with other pieces of cloth, a giant patchwork of time; hours of patient layering and varying the scraps of worn and torn clothes or textiles from the house.
