Private First-Class Leonard Carlucci was born in Stamford, CT and is the oldest of 12 children. He served in the Second Battalion, 6th Marines from 1962 to 1965 as an antitank assault man. Leonard served across Europe and was mobilized during the Cuban Missile Crisis.

My daughter made the arrangements with Tony Ntellas from the Veteran of the Game LLC and staff from the Yankees organization to surprise me with the honor of being the Yankees Veteran of the Game on July 17, 2022. Wow, it was indeed a memorable day. My family and I are so happy that this program exists, because it’s a special way to honor Veterans. Standing on the field with my favorite team, surrounded by the cheers of the home crowd was a once in a lifetime experience. Now when I watch the games from home, I have a greater appreciation for the Yankees, the players, and the Veteran of the Game LLC. My family and I thank Tony Ntellas for his professionalism and kindness and for his help in making my experience as the Yankees Veteran of the Game one that I will always cherish. Thank you Tony.
