So out of the post draft free agency crop, these are a couple of players that I think could help us. Hillman is a quick and fast around the edge kinda back, which the Colts desperately need unless the Ferguson kid from Illinois pans out (Undrafted rookie), and Reggie Nelson is a vet that has been around the block and even at his age, has played well as recent as last year. We have the rook from Clemson (nowhere near ready for game action) and Mike Adams and Clayton Geathers. The depth there is pretty sketchy, I would not pay over the top money for either of them, but would gladly take both if the price were right. Just curious, not that the Colts would even kick the tires, but how does everyone feel about Greg Hardy? Too much trouble, not enough left in the tank or worth an incentive laden contract? Let's chat about it.

Well, the declined options this year include 12, count them 12 1st round picks from the 13' draft. Still going through them, but this is one I would definitely take a look at if I were the Colts. His name is Barkevious Mingo (LSU), he's thin, but lightning quick around the outside.

Watching some You Tube on the Anthrop kid from Purdue, and this kid just might have a shot. He played Big Ten competition and showed really well. He's great with a head of steam and makes plays. Similar to Amendola, I like him.

This is Anthony Sarao, he was a 1-1/2 year starter at USC, he had double digit tackles against Stanford and Colorado last year, he served as a team captain and is working towards his Masters in Business/Communications. Looks like we got lucky here, he elected to sign with Colts as an UDFA. I love players that have done it on the big stage, being a ND fan I have seen him a few times, he is a great leader, and always seems to be around the ball. Keep an eye on this one!

Boy, I sure hope these lineman workout, because if we have an injury to a RB, WR or TE, we have NO depth... Confused by the Morrison pick(LB, FLA), dude tore up his knee in 14', has been arrested for barking at and mocking a police dog, and runs a 40 about as fast as I do... Sure could have used a RB depth pick there...

Tenacious leader and three-year starter for highly successful Alabama program that puts a heavy emphasis on running the football. While he could get a bit bigger , Kelly has the necessary physicality and football intelligence to step in and challenge for a starting position right away. Ryan currently holds a 3.75 grade point average in graduate school after finishing his undergrad coursework with a 3.298 cumulative GPA (Marketing). Kelly was a three year starter for arguably the best running offense in College football. Blocked for last year's Heisman Trophy winner in Derrick Henry. I know I opened with with this, but to start three years at a program like Alabama is something pretty special.

Kelly is also an active member in the Tuscaloosa community as he is his hometown of West Chester, Ohio. Regularly visits area elementary schools, hospitals and Habitat for Humanity builds, Kelly has consistently put forth a strong effort to give back to others. He also had a prominent role in the cleanup efforts the summer following the April 27, 2011, tornado that devastated Tuscaloosa.

I think the guys knocked this one out of the park, nobody is more excited to get this guy in here than #12, believe that!

After looking into where players are slotted, and considering the Colts glaring need, I feel that Shaq Lawson has to be the apple of their eye. He is tough against the run and has shown he can command the attention to allow opposite side rushers to get to the Quarterback. I think the guy that has the potential to make this thing interesting is Vernon Hargreaves. For most of the season, he was a projected a top ten talent. He might be tough to pass on. What say you?

I say if Derek Henry is there at #48, you have to pull the trigger, don't ya?

This post like the ones to follow will be a bit long winded, feel free to move on. I will be providing thoughts on some players you may not have heard of, but could really help the Colts in their areas of need. I will try to give ya two or three a night. Feel free to open up discussion, or even post your own players you think might be useful. Hope you enjoy!

Jack Allen, Mich St Center.

I would love to see Andrew Luck find his Jeff Saturday, this is Jack Allen C Mich St. Below is a quote from Mich St all everything LT Jack Conklin. This sounds to me like the kind of man we need for the job.

He sets the tone,” offensive lineman Jack Conklin said. “A lot of times he sets up the blocking schemes for not only the offensive line but the running backs and even occasionally the receivers. He’s a guy we look to on the offense a lot during games. He’s really taken on the role of being a verbal leader and getting on guys if something isn’t going right. He’ll get on someone and bring them back into the game.” -USA Today

IMO, Colts should put one offensive lineman and one edge rusher as no doubters at #18, after that they should hold true to their players rankings. The last thing they should do is have their top OL go and then a couple picks in front of them have the top Edge guy go and then panic (STB), and just take Bjeorn Werner. If they have a corner ranked number 1 on their board take him, if Laquan Treadwell (WR Ole Miss) falls to you or you have Corey Coleman (WR Baylor) as the top ranked player left on your board, take him. Fans get you fired, pick the best player, not the one that the meter reader down the street would approve of, because when Treadwell or Coleman become Beckham Jr, Mr Meter guy is going to call you an idiot for not drafting them. With that said, anyone have a guy they have their fingers crossed for, mine is Darren Lee, LB Ohio State.
