The New Orleans Swing Dance Festival & The Ultimate Lindy Hop Showdown

Connecting the music to the dance since 2002! No holds barred and improvisational, the "Showdown" showcased dance contests like no other.

The New Orleans Swing Dance Festival is a live music centered, international dance festival set in the birthplace of jazz. In partnership with local musicians and dancers, New Orleans jazz historians, and the international swing dance community, we strive to foster an inclusive, creative, and socially conscious community through high-quality dance education and live jazz entertainment.

THE ULTIMATE LINDY HOP SHOWDOWN IS CURRENTLY ON HIATUS

The Ultimate Lindy Hop Showdown began in 2002 as a weekend centered around lindy hop competitions. Using no rules, boundary pushing contest formats, live music, and focusing on the intrinsic relationship of jazz music and dance, The Ultimate Lindy Hop Showdown became one of the most influential and most copied events in the international swing dance community.
