With the theme of "ONCE UPON A RESISTANCE," these Panelists spoke on how our history of RESISTANCE has allowed us to write our own story.

Will Sutton (Journalist, Times-Picayune; Radio Host, WBOK's "The Good Morning Show") moderated, joined by Panelists Sienna Abdulahad, M.A.Ed. (Scholar/Author/Entrepreneur/Executive Coach/Adjunct Professor, Tulane), Dr. Mona Lisa Saloy (Author/Poet Laureate Emerita), and Ytasha L. Womack (Writer/Filmmaker/Cultural Critic). Brenda Marie Osbey (Author/Editor) was unable to attend, so Darrell Stover (Cultural Historian/Poet/Performance Artist/Professor/Scientist) stepped in.

Scheduled Moderator Warrington Hudlin (Boomerang; House Party) had to drop out, so Oscar- & Emmy-winning Lisa Cortés (Precious; The Space Race) took over moderating duties, and Film/TV Pro Db Wells (12 Years a Slave; Django Unchained), stepped in as Panelist at the last minute, joining Greg Eagles (Afro Samurai; Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy), Zac Manuel (Buckjumping; Lil Nas X: Long Live Montero), and Emmy- & Webby-winning Angela Lynn Tucker (The Inquisitor; A New Orleans Noel).

Words can't express the level of gratitude and joy we feel after such an awesome BLERDFEST! 2026 this past Saturday.
