This morning I had the opportunity to be on local television sharing the story behind The Enchanted Nest and talking about the free community concert happening this Friday.

One of the questions I was asked was why we decided to create The Enchanted Nest.

The answer is simple.

Over the years, I’ve met a lot of couples who wanted to get married, but struggled to find an option that fit both their vision and their budget.

The issue isn’t that couples can’t afford to get married.

The issue is that sometimes they can’t afford the options being presented to them.

Every couple deserves choices.

Some couples want a large celebration with all the bells and whistles. Others want something smaller, simpler, more intimate, and surrounded by nature.

Neither is right or wrong.

The Enchanted Nest was built to be another option. A place where couples can celebrate one of the biggest days of their lives in a beautiful wooded setting without feeling pressured to pay for things they don’t want or need.

But The Enchanted Nest was never meant to be just a wedding venue.

It was also built to be a place where community happens.

That’s why this Friday, June 12th, we’re opening our gates for a FREE community concert featuring Lost In Harmony. Family Traditions Food Truck will be on site, the fire pit will be lit, and we’ll be spending the evening enjoying great music under the lights.

As a new venue in New Kent, we’re incredibly grateful for the support we’ve received so far. Every share, comment, recommendation, and guest helps us continue building something special.

Admission is free, but seating is limited to 50 guests.

8News got a visit from a special guest on Monday to talk about The Enchanted Nest, a micro venue in New Kent County offering free sites for wedding planners on a budget.

BREAKING NEWS FROM THE WOODS…

The fairies of The Enchanted Nest have apparently formed a union.

After weeks of negotiations, several strongly worded acorn letters, and what can only be described as aggressive glitter-based lobbying, they presented their demands.

Their main complaint?

“If humans get their own portal into The Enchanted Nest, then fairies deserve one too.”

After reviewing their proposal (and being reminded that enchanted creatures are difficult to argue with), we reluctantly agreed.

So overnight, while everyone was sleeping, the fairies got to work.

This morning we woke up to discover a brand-new Fairy Portal hidden in the woods.

Visitors are welcome to stop by and admire it, but please remember:

• Do not disturb sleeping fairies.
• Do not accept mysterious woodland contracts.
• If you hear tiny voices arguing about flower placement, mind your business.
• The Enchanted Nest is not responsible for guests who accidentally wander into another realm.

The fairies seem pleased with the final result.

FAMILY NIGHT UNDER THE LIGHTS

Bring the family out to The Enchanted Nest on June 12th for a night in the woods with live music by Lost In Harmony.

Before the duo takes the stage, we’re opening it up for kids who want to share a talent — singing, playing an instrument, telling jokes, dancing, poetry, whatever they’ve got.

Let them run around in the woods, enjoy the lights, grab some food, make s’mores by the fire, and just be kids for the night.

Family Tradition Food Truck will be on site.
